Biography

Kate DeJarnette is a speech-language pathologist and Clinical Assistant Professor at The University of Kansas. She currently leads a team of clinical practicum students that serve individuals with complex communication needs (CCN) and individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) across the lifespan. She teaches the AAC in the Schools and AAC & Literacy courses to graduate students in speech-language pathology. Her primary interests include professional pre-service training and continuing education in AAC, factors that contribute to effective AAC assessment and intervention, and school-based AAC services.
